AVAILABLE POSITIONS DESCRIPTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Store hours are Tuesday - Saturday 10A.M.- 6 P.M. full and part time positions available.

STORE MANAGER

 We are looking for a results driven retail store manager to  be responsible for the overall store management. The successful  candidate will be able to enhance customer satisfaction, meet sales and  profitability goals and manage staff effectively. Candidates will have  the most success if they have a background in financial planning,  employee recruitment, or retail management.  Responsible for opening and closing store Tuesday – Saturday 10AM-6PM.   Responsible for ensuring maintenance and cleaning are performed on  schedule .  Responsible for staff scheduling of all paid staff.   Required to cashier on a regular bases and close out registers at end of  each work day including filing end of day paperwork. Need to be  knowledgeable in all staffed positions.  Must be able to communicate  clearly with back of the house management and ensure staff in all  departments are trained and performing their duties.   

Responsibilities

  • Develop business strategies to raise our customers’ pool, expand store traffic and optimize profitability
  • Ensure high levels of customers satisfaction through excellent service
  • Complete store administration and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
  • Conduct personnel performance appraisals to assess training needs and build career paths
  • Deal with all issues that arise from staff or customers (complaints, grievances etc)
  • Be a shining example of well behavior and high performance
  • Additional store manager duties as needed

FLOOR ASSOCIATE

 Responsible for providing exceptional customer service  to customers by greeting customers and answering general merchandise  questions.

Responsible for  keeping showroom neat and orderly including light cleaning throughout  the day. Assist customers with items on high shelves, loading purchased  furniture into customers cars and assisting donations intake director  with large or heavy items when needed.

 Floor associate is responsible for ensuring loss prevention and being  due diligent while on the floor.  Will assist other departments on a  regular basis and will receive cross training as needed.  

CASHIER

 Work in a FUN fast paced environment!  We are a re-sale thrift store selling donated goods at a discount to the public.

Full or part time is welcome. Must be able to stand for  entirety of shift.(Shifts are 10am - 6pm, 10am - 2pm or 2pm - 6pm). Store is open Tuesday - Saturday 10am -6pm.   

MUST  be extremely friendly and outgoing but able to focus and have an  attention for detail.  Cash handling experience required. Must make  change accurately and efficiently and be able to count back change. 

Square based point of sale system, touch screen typing required,  decision making skills required for choosing what category an item  belongs to when entering into system. 

  Responsible for greeting all customers, answering  general item questions and wrapping, bagging items. Help with tasks as  needed including cleaning of store.  

VISUAL MERCHANDISER

  *This is NOT a stocking position like in large retail chains, this is a  staging of decor position, experience stocking for a beverage company or  grocery store is not applicable to this position. If you enjoy setting up decor and items in visually pleasing ways this  position is for you! Working with everything from everyday use items to  antiques and an amazing variety of decor items! 

We are looking for an innovative Visual Merchandiser to assist in generating sales through creative retail displays that capture buyers’ attention, with the goal of providing an excellent in-store experience and increasing sales. To be successful as a Visual Merchandiser you must ensure our store’s visual appearance is maintained to the highest standard, at all times. Responsible for stocking all areas of the store, making fast and accurate decisions on where an item should be placed categorically.  Responsible for stocking all shelves and creating aesthetically pleasing ways to display all types of items.  

Visual Merchandiser Responsibilities:

  • Installing and setting up displays, responsible for stocking entire store not including softlines. 
  • Changing displays to promote new products or to reflect festive or seasonal themes. 
  • Researching lifestyle and design trends to implement into store displays. 
  • Managing back stock and ability to rotate stock as needed. 

Visual Merchandisers are responsible for designing, creating and stocking attractive visual displays. Must be a creative and innovative thinker, using skills in visual design and space utilization to enhance the aesthetic appeal of all shelves and displays.  

PRICER / SORTER

 *MUST* have experience in pricing and selling used/new items.  Please list said experience on application, or what experience you have that would be relevant to applying for the position that is choosing the prices for all items that we sale in the store. Someone with experience in selling items online, in a vendor booth, ebay or facebook marketplace preferred. 


Very fun position, responsible for pricing any and all items that are  donated to the store! You never know what you are going to get from  antiques to every day use items. Required to make pricing decisions all  day long that directly affect the profitability of the store.  Looking  for full time or part time, we are willing to work with your schedule.  Store is open Tuesday - Saturday 10-6 and new donations come in daily.


Responsible for pricing all items in store.  Must have knowledge  in a multitude of categories and attention for detail. Knowledge of  pricing for dishes, toys, everyday use items,  antiques, furniture,  décor, new and vintage or an assortment of some of those categories is  required.

Responsible for cleaning, preparing and sorting  items for merchandiser to put on sales floor.  Ability to make quick  educated decisions, responsible for choosing any items not to go to  sales floor.  Must be able to lift at least 30lbs on occasion as moving  boxes of items to your cleaning area will be needed.       

DONATION INTAKE DIRECTOR

 Donation intake director is solely responsible for bringing donated  items in from vehicles that park in the donation drop off area.   Loading boxes onto carts/dollies and ability to lift and move some  furniture alone is required.  The floor associate can be paged to help  the intake director with larger items. 

Excellent  communication skills both written and verbal with attention to detail  required. Strong critical thinking skills, able to approach all issues  and questions with a smile and  gracious demeanor. MUST have incredible  customer service skills and able to promptly and courteously answer  donation questions.

Responsible for approving and accepting donations as  they are dropped of at the donation intake area.  Must be able to make  quick and educated decisions regarding acceptance of items. Responsible  for greeting donors and filling out donation receipts.

Responsible for scheduling donation pick ups for the truck driver.

 Must be able to  lift and move boxes and bags full of items.  Will utilize dollies and  carts on a regular bases for larger items and furniture.  Must be able  to stand for duration of shift, will be working inside and outside when  receiving donations.    

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

We are open Tuesday - Saturday 10am.- 6 pm. The volunteer coordinator  is not necessarily expected to work everyday the store is open,  scheduling is flexible.


We are looking for a competent Volunteer Coordinator to recruit and  manage volunteers. You will be responsible for allocating  responsibilities and retaining the best people. It takes a competent  leader to succeed in this profession. You should know how to distinguish  talent and do everything possible to motivate and inspire. You must  possess excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate with  people from diverse backgrounds and experience. The goal is to ensure  that our organization is always staffed with the best and most reliable  individuals, and that they are correctly utilized for the fulfillment of  our mission.


Responsible for creating a volunteer database, responsible for entire  volunteer staffing schedule on a daily basis for front of the house and  back of the house positions.  Previous volunteer coordinator experience  required. Responsible for recruiting all volunteers, internet marketing  for the organization as it pertains to volunteers.  Responsible for  maintaining the organizations enrollment and participation with other  non profits as it pertains to volunteers.  The  volunteer coordinator is  the organization’s main point of contact with the public, responsible  for managing and supervising large groups of volunteers. The coordinator  must be able to effectively communicate the organization’s mission with  volunteers and provide frequent updates to board members. The volunteer  coordinator must be able to motivate, inspire and retain volunteers.  The following skills and qualifications requirements:  

Responsibilities

  • Source and recruit volunteers through various techniques (databases, e-mail, social media etc.)
  • Collect information on availabilities and skills
  • Arrange for appropriate training when needed
  • Produce schedules for everyday activities
  • Assign responsibilities to the right people for volunteer positions.
  • Coordinate teams of volunteers for large-scale actions
  • Communicate frequently with volunteers to ensure they are satisfied and well-placed
  • Disseminate information for upcoming actions and events
  • Keep detailed records of volunteers’ information and assignments
  • Εnsure the purpose of the organization and its actions is clearly communicated

Skills

  • Proven experience as operations director or similar position
  • Experience in recruiting through various channels
  • Working knowledge of databases and MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Able to communicate effectively with diverse people
  • Excellent organizational and team coordination abilities
